ARTIST WORKSHOPS
We are super excited to have Andrew Huang (click to view his works) join us for our fifth artist led workshop!
Andrew is an artist whose works extend beyond the boundaries of traditional Chinese art making. Apart from being a 2 time UOB Painting of the Year finalist, he has also won a slew of chinese calligraphy competitions. His paintings contextualize the concepts of phenomenology and intentionality in traditional Chinese Ink Painting into contemporary times, searching for meanings in everyday objects that revitalize lived human experiences in today’s context. Grounded in Chinese Painting and Calligraphy, Andrew’s practice involves employing Silk and Chinese Ink as primary mediums to assimilate traditional Chinese painting techniques with Western interpretations of artmaking.

DONATE TO CARES JB
This year we’ve also chosen CARES JB (click to learn more about this animal shelter) as our adopted charity that we would love to help as we absolutely adore animals and would like to try our best to give these homeless animals a better life. All our artist-led workshops will come with an additional and optional $5 add-on option, of which 100% will go to the shelter. We will also match the amounts donated! The reason we chose CARES JB was because friends of ours (along with many other Singaporeans) volunteer there frequently and the animals at the Johor shelter are in need of a lot more funding and resources than the shelters in Singapore. If you would like to know more about the shelter or how else you can help please feel free to reach out to us too!
PREVIOUS WORKSHOPS
Check out previous editions of our artist-led workshops. These sessions are important to us and a way for us to support our friends and artists in the community. It was something that we set out to do when we started Arterly Obsessed and we’re so excited to be able to run these sessions. If you love art and want to learn from some amazing artists then come join in our next session!
