We are super excited to have Shirly Koh (click to view her works) join us for our second artist led workshop!

Koh Li Qing Shirly is an artist and art educator who is interested in understanding and learning more about her internal world in order to relate and connect better with others in this world. She also has a keen interest in the everyday mundane with the goal to celebrate and appreciate the little moments in life. 

She graduated from LASALLE College of the Arts with a Bachelor Degree in Fine Art (Honours). She was the recipient of the Chan Davies Art Prize 2016, UOB Painting of the Year 2016 - Emerging Artist – Silver, NOISE Singapore Award 2015 and LASALLE Future Leader Scholarship in 2013. She was recently part of 2022 Meta (Facebook) Open Art Commission.

Her recent obsessions have been studying the techniques of how Studio Ghibli uses their brushstrokes to create their breathtaking illustrations and making copies of her favourite scenes from her favourite Ghibli animations.

Shirly will be conducting 2 Studio Ghibli inspired workshops this December! The first, a landscape painting workshop, where participants will learn how to paint the majestic clouds as seen in the animations. The second, a children’s (adults are welcome too) holiday workshop held over 2 days exploring the animated characters in Studio Ghibli’s animations through painting and clay!

CHILDREN’S CHARACTER WORKSHOP DETAILS
Learn how to paint some of Studio Ghibli’s iconic characters such as Totoro, Warawara and Soot! You will also learn how to use clay to create mini sculptures of them! This workshop will take place over 2 days.

Dates: 2 sessions 10 and 11 December

Time: 9am to 12pm for both days (6 hours in total)

Price: $150 (all materials will be provided for use on site)

Recommended Age: 8 years and above. Adults are welcome to join!
